Rail Events

N4 records the following events during rail process. Each event is recorded as per the use case mentioned in the Event Description column.

You can view each recorded event in the respective Business Entity Inspector view History, Events tab.

ALARM_TRAIN_DELAYED_EVENT_TYPE

When a train visit is delayed because of pending WI's. Requires a groovy job setup. See Setup alert when train visits are delayed.

CAS_RV_REQUEST_CONTAINER_LIST

When CAS requests for on-board container list or crane work lists for a train visit.

CAS_RV_REQUEST_GEOMETRY

When N4 uses the Carrier Geometry request to send the rail geometry to CAS.

CAS_TRAIN_VISIT_UPDATE

When a response is sent to CAS on update of train visit.

EQ_RECEIVE_RO

Recorded as a receive event for equipment received through a gate against the rail order.

When any of the order items, such as seq Nbr, Equipment Type, Quantity, ISO Group, Temperature, Ventilation, CO2, O2, etc., for a equipment rail order is updated.

When rail car visit is marked as damaged.

When rail car visit is marked as repaired.

RAILCAR_SPOTTED

Confirms when a Railcar Visit has been successfully spotted by either Transfer Point, Meter Mark, GPS, or ECS.

After spotting, the spotting status is visible in the History, Events tab of the Railcar Visit Inspector. In addition, if the com.navis.rail.business.entity package is included at the INFO (or above) level in the Logging tab in N4, specific logging information (such as "Railcar RCAR XXX has been spotted") is available in the navis-apex.log file.

RAILCAR_SPOTTING_FAILED

When spotting fails for any of the following reasons:

  • The transfer point entered does not correspond to a location on the track plan

  • The meter mark entered does not correspond to a location on the track plan

  • The GPS coordinates entered do not correspond to a location on the track plan

  • In its current position, the railcar extends beyond the end of the track plan

  • The railcar could not be positioned because the railcar length is not defined.

Recorded as a service event when a rail move is excluded.

When the TZ Decker failed to find a transfer point for the container to be exchanged from the AGV to the ASC (or vice versa), to the rack, or to the rail transfer TP.

When the Stop-Rail field in the Units view is True and you add a hold or a permission for a unit that prevents you from performing the rail operations such as RAMP, or DERAMP.

When the Stop-Rail field in the Units view is False and a unit no longer has required permissions or active holds that prevent you from performing the rail operations such as RAMP, or DERAMP. The intended outbound carrier visit of the unit must be ‘train’.
